Initial defection:  We will replace reels with initial defection for free, and please contact us within 7 days of receipt. Please check your reel thoroughly as soon as your receive it. If you've used the reel, we may not guarantee the free replacement to the damage.

1. Fishing reels

Limited lifetime warranty:  Your reel purchased from Japan Tackle is under limited lifetime warranty. And we are the only tackle shop to offer it for Japan domestic model tackle with contact point in your market, USA, Australia, and Europe. We, Shimano, or Daiwa do not issue warranty cards, but all purchases are under warranty. Manufacturers will stop carrying parts after about 6 years of sales, and 6 years is good to be considered as the lifetime of fishing reel. The warranty covers cost for repair or replacement, if a reel breaks because of manufacturing defection, or design flaw. It includes wide range of strange problems, and please contact us freely if you see any problem. For the warranty repair services, please pay for shippings because it is not covered by the warranty. Warranty service is upon manufacturer's inspection, and the broken product should be sent back to factory first. Japanese manufacturers will not send you replacement reels, and it always fix the broken reel. We do offer warranty services to reel sold by somebody who doesn't take care of you, at small charges. Please contact us freely if you are in trouble. You may save a lot by using warranty for repair services. question@japantackle.com

Beware!! Some shops do not offer any warranty to the Japanese model reels sold. You are risking huge, by purchasing expensive tackle without warranty. For example, handle of $300 reel is mostly priced at about $80. If it breaks, you'll have to pay all the money, if you purchase it from somewhere. However, warranty service is most likely to replace it for free, and shipping needed is about $10 total.  I know our prices are a little higher, but you'll get what you pay.

2. outside warranty support

We support the warranty service of manufacturers for our customers, and we also have contracted tackle repair shop in the US, Reel 'Em In, for outside warranty services. Even if free warranty service is applicable for a minor problem, local repair service may be cheaper than oversea shipping.
