How to change bearings on spool for Daiwa reels
Here I explain how to use Pin Remover to change the bearings installed on the spool.
| 1. Pin is holding the bearing on the spool shaft. | 2. Please apply dent side of the push bar to the pin, and push just before the push bar contact to spool shaft. Make sure the pin and the tool is set square. | 3. Change the push bar to thin side, and pin will come out. | 4. Set new bearing, and the pin. | 5. Slowly push the pin by the tool. | 6. Pin should set evenly to the shaft. |

Warning! For some models (ABU, Flueger) tapered pins are used. In this case, please make sure you push the pin from smaller side. Daiwa and Shimano use flat pins, and you may push by either way.

Below is how to remove spool pin without pin remover tool. You'll need quality pliers. The pliers on the photos is only for demonstration, and much larger one is recommended. For some reels, pins are pushed very hard. In the case, please do not try hard, or you will damage the spool shaft and spool edge.
| 1. The pin is holding the bearing on the spool. | 2. Use pliers to push out the pin to one side. For this job, grooved surface pliers will damage the shaft. Please use flat surface part of the pliers. | 3. Please remove the pin when it is pushed to one side. Pin is still stacked. Be careful, or you will damage the spool edge by pliers. |
