I've received many questions about recommendation from fishing pals and wives, what kind of fishing reels shall I buy for a present. Here I limit to bait casting reels as present and give you some clues about choosing a fishing reel.

Before you buy any fishing reel as a present, please find out which hand he/she cranks handle. Bait casting reels have right and left handle models, and you may not switch handle right to left.
