Type-R+  weighs about 1 oz lighter than stock TD-Z reels. To reduce the weight from already-super-light-weight arsenal, almost every components, like frame, spool, gears and etc are further machined. The casting performance is tuned for anglers with more experience, to add casting distance. It has less brake force at slow - mid speed range to cast longer, and smoother.

Spinning 2506C model has special tuned spool with a little steeper taper angle for better control with fluorocarbon lines of 3-5lb test.

Compared to the 2002 original Type-R reels, Type-R+ reels have a bit milder brake profiles to handle. The original Type-R is controllable only by expert level anglers, and this Type-R+ is fine for a bit less skilled anglers.

For 2506C spinning reel, a $150 value spare spool for 3-5lb test nylon line is added from the 2002 TD-Z2506C Type-R.
